Another manufactured moment from a Simon Cowell show. The ugly duckling emerges onto stage to doubt from the judges, interspersed worst shitty looks they could edit in from the entire night from the crowd. The music starts, and everyone is blown away.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s incredibly moving, and the kid can sing. Just keep in mind that it’s as real as any feel-good hit of the summer. When the kid opens his mouth, you can see it in Simon Cowell’s beady little soulless eyes, he’s already counting the money.
But don’t let that spoil your fun, as it didn’t spoil mine. Good video.
This is a good read. I’ve never thought about how many things are “branded” these days. I’ve heard of No Logo, but never read it.
